In the past week social media and online marketing have been in the news like never before. Some commentators have said that, without Facebook, Donald Trump would never have been elected US president. And I would have to agree. Digital marketing (and especially social media) is shaping opinion more quickly than traditional institutions can keep up, and we’re witnessing huge, unpredictable changes in society as a result.
