What NDMT was looking for.

Napier District Masonic Trust (NDMT) is a leading provider of aged care services in Hawke’s Bay.

NDMT offers specialist facilities, hospitals, retirement villages, and rental accommodation, dedicated to ensuring every elderly person has a place they can call home, built on love, respect, and care.

Their CEO Vicky Lee approached Mogul in 2023 with the big picture in mind – a complete rebrand and repositioning in the market to reflect who they are, why they exist, and their place in the world.

“When we first got in touch with Mogul, we were really looking for a partner who could help us give our entire brand and online presence a fresh new modern look. Our aim was to update our image so that it better reflects our purpose, values and mission, and to make sure it resonates well with our residents, their families, and our staff. Essentially, we needed someone who could help us tell our story in a modern, engaging way that truly captures what we’re all about.”

A team of experts

Rethinking NDMT and elder care.

The project aimed to rebrand NDMT to convey their story, values, and purpose, develop a new visual identity, launch new brand components, and overhaul their outdated website using emotive photography that shared their sense of place and people.

The new brand needed to shift the perception from merely housing and hospitals to a vibrant, supportive community focused on life, living, and hope. So we brought in a team of experts in their fields. George led the project and collaborated with our trusted partners.
George Miller

Strategy, project lead.

George supported Peter throughout the story and positioning work, then provided strategic advice and insight into how to plan and structure content, position key messages, and ensure the key audiences get the most relevant content as quickly as possible.

She went on to develop the marketing and communications strategy to create a clear action plan for the next 12 months.

PETER ROBAND

Brand story, purpose & positioning.

Peter led the insight-gathering phase through empathy interviews and stakeholder workshops, which uncovered key stakeholder stories and values that became the foundation of the rebrand.

Nathan Hall

Visual identity.

Nathan developed a new visual identity and brand hierarchy, ensuring cohesive branding across all touchpoints.

Kirsten Simcox

Photographic storytelling.

Kirsten focused on bringing the new brand to life, creating an engaging and immersive experience for the audience.

Delivering results

How we worked.

Every project is different and clients have unique requirements, but a robust approach and process is the key to delivering efficient and effective results.
Strategy.
  • The marketing and communications strategy helped NDMT to align their marketing decisions with their overarching business goals, audience needs, and available resources.
  • By starting with the empathy interviews and workshop, it allowed NDMT to take a good look at where they were, and carefully consider where they want to be in the future, ensuring the strategy was purposeful, meaningful and effective.
  • The work included a tactical plan to reach and engage the agreed audiences, with a timeline and key milestones that must be achieved for the strategy to be considered a success.
Website.
  • The outdated NDMT website needed a complete overhaul to align with the new story, brand positioning and identity.
  • We designed and developed a modern, user-friendly WordPress website to cement NDMT’s place in the market as a trusted, people-centric elder care organisation, provide quick access to information for existing residents and families, and showcase NDMT’s culture to attract new staff by highlighting NDMT’s values, services, and community impact.
Results.
  • The project has significantly enhanced NDMT’s market presence and brand recognition.
  • The new website attracts more visitors and facilitates better engagement through its user-friendly design and rich content.
  • Showcasing NDMT’s culture is helping to attract new staff, and lots of positive feedback from residents, families, and staff reflects the success of the project.

Testimonial.

“What I appreciated the most about working with Mogul was their genuine effort to understand who we are and what we stand for. They didn’t just provide a one-size-fits-all solution. I’d absolutely recommend Mogul to anyone considering a rebranding or digital project. They’re a fantastic blend of strategy, creativity, and technical know-how. The way they listen and collaborate makes the whole process feel very personal and tailored. Mogul helped transform our brand and digital presence into something that genuinely reflects who we are. If you’re looking for a partner who’ll really take the time to get to know your organisation and deliver outstanding results, Mogul is the way to go.”
