What Foodeast Haumako was looking for.

Foodeast Haumako wanted to create a fit-for-purpose website that accurately reflected its role as an innovation and collaboration hub – so they went to market to find the best partners.

The organisation has evolved since its concept phase and the current brand no longer accurately represented the organisation’s purpose, services, and the community that it serves. They chose Mogul and Blackdog Design to support them in the next stage of their brand evolution.

Project Collaboration

How great collabs work.

We put Foodeast at the heart of the collaboration to deliver the best solutions and outcomes for them. Mogul & Blackdog have been working together for over 10 years and we fit like a glove.

  • Foodeast Haumako, our client with a noble mission – to Feed the Future of Aotearoa.
  • Blackdog is a brand specialist who leads the brand evolution and design development.
  • Mogul contributes to brand and design ideas for the website then implements them into a purpose-built online platform.
Key Challenges.
  • Evolving Identity: Foodeast was still defining its brand and journey, making it crucial to create a flexible website that can adapt to changing needs.
  • Brand Understanding: There is a need to clarify the meaning and context of the existing logo and create a cohesive style for communication.
  • Brand Communication: The website must clearly communicate Foodeast’s mission, purpose, target audience, and how people can engage with the organisation.
  • Multiple Audiences: The website needed to resonate with various audiences, including industry players, prospective tenants, potential users of the conference room, and stakeholders.
Work to be Done.
  • Brand Development: The existing logo could not be changed, but the brand style needed to be developed to reflect the current environment and objectives.
  • Content & Imagery:We needed video, imagery and graphics that reflected the brand’s innovation and engagement, and to provide meaning and context with graphics,  imagery and language for communication and marketing.
  • Effective Website: Strategic advice and insight into how to structure content, position the key messages and ensure al of the audiences get to the most relevant content as quickly as possible.
Overall Approach & Solutions.
  • Brand Cohesion: Matching the brand identity with the building ethos and features, including colours and elements, to the modern, fresh fit-out of the building, digitally.
  • Willingness to Adapt: We focused on flexibility, collaboration, and a willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of Foodeast.
  • Showcase the Space: To present the facility to prospective tenants as a modern, light filled, appealing space and encourage bookings for meetings and events.
  • The Heart of the Project: The goal wasn’t just to create a website that serves as a functional tool but that embodied the spirit of innovation and collaboration at the heart of Foodeast.

In the client's own words.

“It was a pleasure to collaborate with two local Hawke’s Bay companies, Mogul and Blackdog Design, to bring our new website to life. From the very inception of the project, George challenged us from a strategic perspective. She helped us gain clarity around our desired outcomes and then during the build itself, she and her team worked tirelessly, with great attention to detail, to bring the vision to fruition. The end result is a stunning website that speaks to our different audiences and that will grow with us over time.”
