What Liquid Laundromats was looking for.

Proudly New Zealand owned and operated, Liquid Laundromats have over 120 sites nationwide in New Zealand and are experiencing rapid growth in the Australian market.

Liquid Laundromats approached Mogul in 2023 looking for a trusted partner who did great work with similar clients and had a solid reputation in the market.

We were a great fit and Cath Stewart commented “From the very beginning, it felt like a genuine partnership. It wasn’t just about Mogul wanting our business; they genuinely cared about what was best for us. They were a valuable sounding board, always available to discuss our concerns and offer helpful advice.”

Two-Pronged Approach

Data-informed decision making.

It’s very easy to dive straight into a website rebuild without taking some time to understand what is currently working – and what is not.

By starting with the user audit, we identified some key challenges and some smarter solutions for the rebuild.

The new website has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from staff, business partners, and customers. The company is confident that the new website will support its continued rapid growth, particularly as it expands into Australia. They are particularly pleased with the scalable design that enables seamless integration of new locations and features as the business grows.

User Audit

90% of traffic from mobile.

Among other factors, the user audit assessed searchability, look and feel, functionality, relevance, speed and traffic. Most importantly, with nearly 90% of traffic accessing the site via mobile phones we revealed the critical need for a mobile-first approach.

Secondly, we gained a clear understanding of how customers were interacting with the website and the need to rethink the locations section, especially for the Australian market.

Website project

Fast and highly functional.

The new website prioritises mobile responsiveness and features a clean, crisp design that provides immediate answers to common customer queries to reduce unnecessary phone calls and emails.

After assessing other market leaders in other industries with a high concentration of locations, we gave the locations section a complete overhaul to make it easy for people to find the location closest to them, and the details they are looking for, as quickly as possible.

Delivering results

How we worked.

Every project is different and clients have unique requirements, but a robust approach and process is the key to delivering efficient and effective results.
Design Direction.
  • Mobile-first. When 90% of your website traffic is going to your website via a mobile phone, this is a no-brainer.
  • Flexibility vs Speed? We had a discussion about what was more important. Heaps of flexibility with using an editor like Elementor, or templates that are more locked down for consistency – and lightning fast speed.
  • Keeping it lightweight. For a lightweight build we kept the design simple and clean, using images only where they were needed and leaned towards illustrations / vectors where possible.
Rethinking Locations.
  • The most important section of the site. If people are visiting the Liquid Laundromats website, you can almost guarantee they are trying to find one closest to them.
  • We used best-practice geo-location tools to make it is as easy and fast as possible for people to get to the information they are looking for.
  • The location pages themselves have all the information in one place including machine types, pricing, how-to guides and FAQs.
Making Admin Easy.
  • If a website is hard to admin, it won’t get updated.
  • The Liquid Laundromats website needed to keep up with the growth of the business, especially in Australia, so a major part of the rebuild was to make it easy to edit and add location pages.
  • We used smart techniques like pre-populating information to reduce manual entry.
  • The streamlined administrative features have saved staff time,m reduced errors and improved efficiency.

In the client's own words.

“Mogul’s flexibility on changes was incredible. They understood our needs and adapted to them throughout the process. The new website is delivering exactly what we hoped for – increased traffic, better brand visibility, and improved administrative efficiency. We’re confident it will enable further business growth. The communication and collaboration throughout the project have been a huge strength of Mogul. Their responsiveness and the way they kept us informed on progress was amazing. Asking a question and getting a near-immediate response with a solution, or a clear timeframe for a response, makes a huge difference.”
